Night Vision: Dark Glamour for Sense & Style Magazine

A concept that came naturally to me and paired well with the month of October was Gothic. But of course! Thank you Hector Reyes, Editor-In-Chief of Sense & Style Magazine for allowing me to play yet again!

My pulls of gowns and dresses are ready to shine… Excitement was the name of my game when putting together this shoot!

Since this was a beauty shoot, I enlisted the talent of Archie Tolentino. We did shoots a few years back with him as the hairstylist. I’ve kept track of him through his Instagram account and noticed that he successfully crossed over to the world of makeup. He is now the Chief Makeup Artist of Maybelline New York, no less, and his work has been nothing short of amazing.

I am Sam.
I am Sam.

I had a wonderful time working with Sam Lewis… I thought she seemed quiet and soft-spoken, but shy turned to FIERCE with each click of the camera!

And now the lovely opening spread…

Black neoprene dress with ruffles by Jerome Salaya Ang at Myth, leather necklace with gold crosses by Ann Ong, synthetic leather kitty ears headband with tulle by Bonne.

I couldn’t part with the leather necklace (above) by Ann Ong with all the gold crucifixes so I had to buy it. I starved for a few weeks, but I’m okay now. 😉

Chocker with green Swarovski crystals layered over chain necklace with cameo pendants and charms all by JÔ by Joyce Oreña, tiered tulle skirt worn as a poncho (stylist’s own).

A BIG THANK YOU is in order for Barba, Bonne, Ann Ong, JÔ by Joyce Oreña, Tria, AC+632, Studio Bohemia as well as Myth, a lifestyle boutique where they house the works of the other designers I featured, namely Jerome Salaya Ang, Joel Escober and Xernan Orticio. I prioritize our wonderful Filipino designers and brands and always feel proud showcasing our local talent.

There are so much more fantastic, dark glamour portraits by the incredible Anna Manlapas for this beauty editorial, so you must grab a copy of this October’s Sense & Style Magazine (with the soon-to-be-wed Marian Rivera on the cover) to see the rest…
