A Feast for the Eyes: Part 1 of 3

I have been looking forward to, dearest friend, Jenny Pascual’s event for the longest time! This Sunday, January 27th at the Malipayon Farms in Tagaytay City, I intend to eat, drink and learn….

Emerson Made long table linens(EAT table linens by EmersonMade).

A collaboration of farms, chefs and the diners is what makes this a moveable feast, a dream that so captivated Jenny which prompted her to say goodbye to the high ranks of the corporate world to embark on this journey. A fan of creating home-cooked meals for her family and friends and organic weekend markets, she thought what better way to support our local farmers than to put together a tour to enlighten people about their local farms and culminating with a wonderful outdoor farm-to-table dining experience. I’m truly excited to bond with my friends (who are also as excited as I am with this unique event) over food and wine!

Now the fashion stylist and costume designer in me has put together a scenario in my head. How is everything going to look like? What are people going to wear? Just like an Alice in Wonderland mind trip, this is what I’m thinking…..

Should I be eating like this?…..

For some reason, when I think of outdoors and having a meal, a picnic always comes to mind. Bright colors to stand out and lots of basket type of bags (like this outfit from Betsey Johnson’s Spring 2013 collection) to bring home some of the local produce…

And since there is a farm tour (and who knows if we’re going to get our hands dirty and perhaps maybe even milk a cow haha!), fashion lovers can wear a dress over some cargo-capri pants like in Anna Sui’s Spring 2013 collection. Very country, farm girl chic ….

Just in case of a little drizzle, a cute rain coat would do the trick….

And capping off this blog entry with a question, is this what people mean when they say, “That dress is very becoming on you.”? Is it because the dress is really becoming a picnic blanket?…..

Dress comfortably! Don’t forget your shades and SPF and bring an extra shirt and rain boots just in case. See you there! 😉
