Taking a breather this calm and cool Sunday by sharing some relaxing photos. Hopefully I was able to capture the beauty, body and soul of Baler, Aurora.
You can read my past entries about Baler here- EyeBALlin’ BAler and A Re-VIEW of Baler’s Market Trends.
A time to reflect….
Surfing and soul-searching actually go hand-in-hand….
Speaking of soul, Baler’s own version of chicken soup for the soul….
According to expert food writer, CJ Juntereal, “The chicken soup in the buko (coconut) is called chicken binakol. It uses buko water in the soup.” I loved its buko bits. This meal easily became a new and instant favorite!
A meal is not complete without dessert. Suman is glutinous rice cake usually cooked in coconut milk and steamed in banana leaves…
And sweetened with brown sugar and coco jam….
But the real reason I was in Baler was to shoot this….
Beautiful, surreal images by Menchit Ongpin and fashion styling by yours truly…
My love for capturing behind-the-scenes….
How a white towel instantly became a reflector, and a shadow maker….
Many special thanks to Sense & Style Magazine, our crew (you know who you are!) and gorgeous guide, Rikka Sotto! And the jewelry, accessories, hair, face and body products worn by our model, Alexia…. Ann Ong for Cosmopolitan necklaces and cuff bracelets, Kathy Webb rings and ZEN Nutrients Natural + Organic….

…And soon after I have posted this, the gentle pitter-patter of the rain becomes heavy downpour. Please stay safe everyone in Manila!
