It’s always refreshing working with “talents” and not just another pretty face in the fashion industry. I’ve done several shoots with ballerinas and their craft and capabilities never fail to take my breath away.
Ballet Philippines’ principal ballerina, Carissa Adea being made up by makeup artist, Ivy Chang, and getting ready to strike a passe, pirouette or plie….
Haha! My knowledge of ballet terms is extremely limited due to futile ballet lessons as a child. It was never me. I always felt so silly, most especially when our instructor would encourage us to ‘freestyle’ and feel the music at one point in a routine! But I admire the discipline professional ballerinas have, discipline they had to hone while at such a young age.

So, I was approached by the ever-wonderful team of High Life Magazine to do the fashion styling for their next fashion editorial and cover featuring scarves and ballerinas in action. I suggested using neutral tones for their outfits while the scarves would be in eye-popping color for contrast.
