Baler, Aurora- From smooth highways to rocky roads, bumps and dips to dangerous curves composed what was a wild, 6-hour drive from Manila. Our crew left a city off to sleep past midnight and arrived around eight the same morning to this serene scenery of loud and ceaseless, but meditative waves…
A bit overcast but the sun was later to come out with a vengeance.
Check out the sea plane in the photograph….. As it circled a few times, our guide and media officer, Rikka, got a call for landing coordinates about the same time I took the photo. Apparently it was a plane filled with surfers excited to ride the waves of Baler, one of the many things this provincial capital is known for.
At a private cove where we stayed, this was our landmark, a majestic, ultra-modern lighthouse….
Or the secret battle fortress of Voltes V?
“Big Falcon”….
I call the color of the sky “amazingly freaky sky blue”. Breathtaking were the different colors the sky would just throw at you! Reminds me of most people in fashion industry, colorful and moody…
More amazingly freaky blue skies and a multi-colored version…
Orange skies ahead?….
Feeling a purple phase….
Can you just imagine these sky prints on fabric? Gorgeous! Perfect for a resort wear 2013 collection of dip-dyed and tie-dyed,embellished maxi-dresses, don’t you think?
Every time I would take a photo and check the image on my camera, a surfer voice in my head would say, “Duuuude, that is soooooo outta’ control!“. Sometimes you just don’t know where the sky ends and the sea begins…
Nature’s way of telling me that spikes are “in”!….
Presenting to you our all-female crew (and an excuse to take portraits) consisting of photographer and beautiful mastermind, Menchit Ongpin….
Expert food and lifestyle writer, CJ Juntereal, looking out to the heavenly skies and blissful seas for further inspiration….
Fashion assistant, Aibel Sayson, who definitely knew how to make waves….
Our all-natural beauty, flame-haired model, Alexia Barton…
And moi, carrying my bag of tricks, ready to cross….
…. The river that flows into the sea! A half past 5 in the morning shot crossing to our shoot location….
The river water was refreshingly cool, perfect for this summer’s sweltering heat!
How are you keeping yourself cool during this intensely hot summer?
Special thanks to Mr. Arnel Patawaran! Wishing our paths for a road trip and food trip will cross soon!
