Last week’s mid-week escape included a much needed trip to the Ilog Maria Honeybee Farm, where I am a firm believer of their handmade apitherapy line of bath and body products and health supplements.
This quirky scenery greeted us as we parked our car…. Geese and bees! 😉
A cute and colorful garden ornament places bees in a happy light as opposed to the killer bee notion of scary movies. This kaleidoscopic piece seems to spell out H-A-P-P-I-N-E-S-S….
Rows and rows of beehives, one of Ilog Maria’s bee yard (and just a few of their 800 bee colonies)…. And some geese in the background. As cute as they may look, these geese made sounds exactly like those creepy Velociraptors from Jurassic Park….
Open to see…..
Beehive opened. Now coming in for a closer look at these busy bees….
And closer…..
Other elements seen beyond the bee yard, some BEEautiful stained glass art….
Rustic details abound….
Akin to a giant beehive, this is the roof over the area where they have tours and Wednesday’s Bee Sting Therapy (BST), a public service by Ilog Maria’s owner, Joel Magsaysay….
Almost a week after I visited, I came across this very interesting and informative article about Ilog Maria and their BST written by Anne A. Jambora entitled They Flock to the Bee Farm to be Healed.
All that goodness and health benefits from nature’s own gold are encapsulated in their wealth of products at this airy and breezy store….
I love their crates and crates of soaps….
Their product line includes: “Ripe, unfiltered HONEY; natural bee POLLEN pellets; raw PROPOLIS; fresh ROYAL JELLY; scented BEESWAX CANDLES; HONEY, BEESWAX AND PROPOLIS SOAP & SHAMPOOS; HONEY CIDER VINEGAR; BEE VENOM; and many other natural bee products.”
Sorbet-hued bath salts! They actually look yummy!
I absolutely loved the subtle scent of beeswax candles….
I feel like they know me so well….
You don’t need to travel all the way to Ilog Maria to buy their products. There are actually some shops in the Metro Manila area where their items are under consignment. I know Echo at Serendra has them and a kiosk near the Alice Blue candles at Glorietta, although supplies at these outlets are limited and seasonal.
But you can also buy online at their website Ilog Maria Honeybee Farm which is also a wealth of information about the health benefits of bee products, the history of this lovely honeybee farm as well as the proper behavior around bees. All important facts to know before heading off to this wonderful destination.
Hive a nice day! 😉

We went there and came home with trunk load of their amazing goods! I’m obsessed with the soap and mint bath salts!!!
Hi Bong-ster!!!
Yes I love their soaps, propolis liquid soap, cleanser & moisturizer. Actually, I’m into all their products! I swear by their liniment, which fixes all my body aches and pains from muay thai in a jiffy! And I can’t live without their throat spray! I have one each on my side table, in my toiletry bag, my travel kit, in my living room and finally one more in the car….
I’m trying out their fresh pollen beads to help with my allergies and of course for more energy! So far, so good 😉
Oh, i miss their products!!!
Irene! You can always order online 😉 Or when you return to Manila, I’m always up for a trip to Tagaytay!
