Yellow… Is it Me You’re Looking For?

Yellow seems to find me.

Following a rainy Thursday, the sun flooded my living room with yellow…. And as I was getting my nails done at my favorite nail salon, Belle & Cat, the color yellow was just screaming for my attention….

It kept saying “Hellooooo!”… Or rather, it kept saying “Yellowwwww!”.

Even dear friend, Fides, wore yellow today for our girl-bonding nail session…..
And I featured a pretty, yellow dress in a retro silhouette by Bowery in one of my fashion editorial shoots that was recently published by High Life Magazine…. And yellow there, Johnny!!! 😉

And for sure, you’ll find more yellow dresses as well in other styles, amongst hangers and hangers of pretty dresses, blouses and accessories at this hidden gem of a store. This secret boutique is tucked away on the 3rd floor of a small building, away from the standard malls, so I guess you can consider this off-the-beaten-path by Manila standards. It’s well worth the short trek, I guarantee it!

In reference to former Philippine president, Corazon’s Aquino’s adoption of the color yellow during the snap elections back in 1986, former First Lady Imelda Marcos was quoted as saying that yellow reminded her of “jaundice, or a lemon”. Though many consider Imelda Marcos as a style icon, famously for her massive shoe collection of one thousand and sixty (“I did not have three thousand pairs of shoes, I had one thousand and sixty.”)…. Fast forward, that did not stop the fashion world from celebrating the color yellow. It is one of the highlighted colors for Spring and Summer 2012….
