Wedding Watch: A Bold & Beautiful Bride

In my last entry, I mentioned that incorporating chains to the bridal ensemble is an edgy move and a look I’ve been loving for quite some time now.  Although non-conforming, chains don’t necessarily mean severe and cutting-edge.  You can still rock the feminine.  For most of the chain pieces, accessories designer, Tessa de Guzman, and I collaborated to customize special pieces for the latest fashion editorial of Business World’s High Life Magazine.

Here, a dainty chain headpiece with natural stone to compliment the dotted gown by Danilo Franco….

Draping multi-chain hair clips and L Manila‘s bib necklace with body chains paired with this beautiful feminine gown by Tippi Ocampo and our model is transformed into this medieval queen in striking armor….

Silver body chains and chiffon (another beautiful gown by Tippi Ocampo) provides the perfect canvas for these customized “Grunge” hair art jewelry, bangle and bouquet (with repoussed and chased aluminum, copper wires and real semi-precious stones) all by Ming Ong-Moya for Kathang Kamay.

Isn’t that bouquet (above) of copper wires and aluminum flowers and leaves amazing and ingenious?  Kudos to Ming for creating another alternative to the traditional flower bouquet!

The draping chain hair clips were also used here to enhance this gypsy-inspired wedding veil with a rosette detail that I especially made for the shoot.  I love the anting-anting (an amulet from the Philippines) front zipper detail on this fascinating black gown by James Reyes.

Brides in black.  That’s bold.
